We are now operating 7 days a week!

Washington's Hood Canal offers world class cold water diving. Underwater, the Canal is the land of the giants - Giant Plumose Anemones, and the Giant Pacific Octopus. You'll also find rocks covered with sponges, tunicates, and anemones. Red, purple and green sea urchins, nudibranchs of every shape and color and a full range of sea stars crawl over the reefs while rockfish, lingcod and wolf eels swim through the waters. Be sure to check out some videos made diving off our boat at Deception Pass, and at Long Island Wall in the San Juans.

Skipper Phil Jensen has been diving Hood Canal waters since 1990, and knows these waters very well. We have a no-harvest policy to preserve the life on these dive sites.

Lu-Jac's Quest is equipped with a heated cabin, a drop-down stern platform to ease entry, and two "Christmas tree" ladders for an easy climb back onto the boat. The boat is equipped with GPS, a depth sounder, radar, and a Coast Guard licensed skipper. We offer two dives a day, and in longer summer days also offer 3-tank dive trips. We encourage photographers and videographers, with fresh water rinses and plenty of inside table area for changing memory cardsand batteries.

Check out our Reservation Calendar to join a scheduled trip, or to schedule a trip for your group or dive shop. Charters runfrom March to October, so we can schedule trips during the off-season, weather permitting, which is generally better visibility. Be sure to check out our new video page, showing a great dive in the San Juan Islands and drone footage following Lu-Jac's Quest back to the marina.

Coast Guard inspected and certified for 20 passengers, we normally carry a maximum of 10 divers total (includes 1 Dive Master typically provided by the chartering dive shop).

What to bring: all your own dive gear, two tanks and drinks; soup, snacks and hot drinks are provided. If you are spending the weekend air fills are available at Hood Sport n Dive in Hoodsport and at Octopus Gardens in Port Townsend. Our two-tank trips generally last about four and a half hours.

We load at 9 AM and leave by 9:30 AM. Very low tides in the Canal can restrict our access to the marina, so we need to be firm about departing at 9:30 AM.

We are located in the Pleasant Harbor Marina (see Contact and Directions for driving directions).

Give us a call at (360) 202-0076 (cell), or email us for reservations and more information.

Independent Dive Masters please note:
you must fill out and return the Dive Charter Contract for Independent Dive Masters. Each diver must also sign the Liability Waiver form.
